SimplyMods CLOSING DOWN

Well, I recently emailed US flashcart seller SimplyMods about a completely irrelevant matter, but the response I got was shocking. I hope that it's a way to inform you guys but SimplyMods is closing down.

From what I got out of their email, they're really concerned with Nintendo's flashcart piracy combat system, and they will be closing down within a month or so. The direct email I got is below, and I quote them:

We will shortly be closing our store. Due to Nintendo clamping down on imports of flash cartridges, our store will cease operations in the next month or so. Unfortunately, we will be unable to continue any affiliations. Sorry about the inconvenience!

I really like them, they're a nice group that deals in the United States with an affordable price. I'd really hate to see them go.

I sort of realized that when I emailed them about their stock of Acekard 2i's and they said that they would no longer sell them because of import issues. So do you think other stores will follow suit?

If it's illegal to import modchips into the US, it's only a matter of time before the same applies to flashcarts.

RHS had 299 modschips seized once http://www.realhotstuff.com/letter.pdf

Perhaps SimplyMods had a shipment confiscated which put the wind up them?

Here in the UK, the 2 Acekard's I received from 7DayShop where labeled as photography accessories on the customs form with a big "Photography equipment, do not X-Ray" on the package. So retailers must be worried.

You also have to wonder if what happened in the Netherlands had any effect on their decision as well.
