This is the 5.00 M33 version. Convert it to 5.50 GEN if you want, I converted mine to work on 5.03 GEN.

Not sure for 5.50, but for 5.03 my unofficial CXMB came with a program to convert it to 5.03 GEN. I can give it to you if you'd like, otherwise I can't help you with 5.50. Sorry.

If you look in the bottom left of the screen you can just make out the crack, its nice and out of the way

I'd like the fully case-mod it to a white one but I'm wary as I've seen how much stuff has to be removed, anybody who's done before think its simple?

The phat shouldn't be any harder than the slim.
Slim was a challenge , but from the vids the phat is rather straight forward =).

Pardon the bad picture quality. Shitty cellphone cam is shitty. Needs a new crystal case though... darned thing already has a crack near the X and is loose around the UMD.

Yep. You can tell if its a 1000 by seeing speakers are on the bottom, a 2000 if the speakers are on the top, and a 3000 if it has a circular ps1 logo for the home button and speakers on the top.
