I have a launch console and just ordered an sx pro. Should be here satuday. I have xci files and they are all over the fat 32 size limit. I want to use ex fat so should i update to get the ex fat comapatibility?

Also my firmware is 5.1.0

If you update now you lose cfw compatibility upon 7.0. Gonna need to wait until its safe to update. You could use emunand but that will eat up majority of your sd card space

So with the sx pro how could i play these xci games i copied to my exfat card? Do i switch it back to fat 32 then split them or how does it work?

One of my xci files are 14 gb

Well in the current situation Exfat is not a viable option for you due to updating your console to the new 7.0 which will make sxos useless.
The only way to deal with Fat32 is by splitting your large games. Im sure theres an app somewhere within the Switch homebrew apps/tools section.
You can try ChoiDujourNX https://gbatemp.net/threads/choiduj...ller-homebrew-for-the-nintendo-switch.513416/method in updating
but I have no clue how it works never used it, its usually the answer ppl fall back on when it comes to updating their Switch for any reason.

I thought you can choose to install the exfat update with choi. So update to 6.2 + exFAT support if you still want to use that format.

Or stick with fat32.

with all the exfat issues why is there no homebrew that functions like windows chkdsk? You would think the ability to scan and fix a exfat volume would be usefull. And also why ass the exfat issues in the first place? cameras that use exfat formated sd cards dont have an issue...

use choidujour update into 6.2 by offline patchs. don't forget to choose exfat driver in procedure. (must touch the right bottom shows "exfat",according to choidujour's instruction or illustration)
