Black Friday and new bundles are coming so I'm trying to choose if get a Wii U or not.
I'm not really experienced in games overall, most of the games I played before were Mario, Kirby, Sonic, other platform type games, Smash Bros and Pokemon on handhelds.

So my question is if should get a Wii U for now considering my poor experience on games and what games should I get like Super Mario Maker, Smash Bros, Yarn Yoshi or Super Mario 3D World to start with.

basically all the 1st party nintendo developed games are fantastic. i just got tropical freeze and it's phenomenal.

because we are beyond 2 years of wii u, all the 3rd party and used games can be had CHEAP!

the black friday smash/splatoon bundle is a great deal for arguably the 2 best games on the console not including mk8

Depends really, just look up the games it has and the ones you want to play on it, that's what's needed to see if you want it or not. I'll personally be trying out Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash but in case I don't like it then I'll just sell it off.

So Smash/Splatoon is the best deal to get? Although I don't even know how to play Splatoon and not really fan of online multiplayer games.

I would say yes. All the first parties are great! Xenoblade Chronicles X is definitely something to look into if you like RPGs. Western or Eastern, since it's a JRPG with a WRPG-esque open world.

I will try to get Smash Bros and Splatoon bundle first. Maybe near christmas there will be more games availables?

I don't wanna do any hacking or modification on any console. I prefer playing and enjoying the console the way it is.

It could be ages till Cemu can run games like Splatoon. Also would online work ?
Your also assuming computer is powerful enough to emulate at Wii U emulator at full/acceptable speed.

Edit: Real hardware is much better than emulator IMO.
Edit Again: To answer OP - Wii U + Mario 3D World is awesome if you have someone else to play with

Cemu can boot many games but you are right and look at the dolphin emulator (it perfect and online gameplay), also cemu is the best progress (i think). I know it take 1-2 year.

Depends.

  • Can you afford overpriced games without blinking?
  • Some of the 'big' games coming like xenoblade or SMTxFE are niche titels - are you willing to do research to catch up with your game knowledge?
  • Do you have friends or siblings to cover the multiplayer part you miss out otherwise since you don't play online?
If you can't answer those questions with yes, then the Wii U will be a lackluster experience for you and not worth the financial investment.

Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, and Smash 4 is all you need if you're planning to invest in a Wii U. Seriously. ;)
Project Zero 5 / Fatal Frame 5, Yoshi's Woolly World and Xenoblade X (only days till it's out) are worth getting. I just finished the 12th Drop on PZ5 and loved it (it wasn't a repetitive go here and escape but with variety). ;)
