Hardware Should i format my SD Card?

I'm new to this, but i need to know if formatting an sd on the Wii U (NOT COMPUTER) Is Needed. If not, Is there a fatal issue within the SD/Adapter? Should i get a brand new SD/Adapter? I've already bought 2 SDs. I don't wanna go through this hassle once more.

You need to format the SD to FAT33 (not exFAT) on the PC. As far as I know the Wii U can't format a SD

I've always found better success with formatting using the tool below as opposed to windows own.
