Hacking Question Should i block updates

I'm on 5.1 is there still hope for a softmod and should i block future updates

They always say,the lower the better.
If I were you though,I'd just go with whatever firmwares the latest to play the games that I want to play.

Perhaps in future,get another switch when something tangible is actually out, like the ps4 scene members did/do
