New rumor around is that SEGA is planning to release a bundled edition of Shenmue 1 & 2 on the Wii.. with some extra Wii-specific minigames..

Considering that SEGA already did this kind of thing with House of The Dead, I say it's possible.. every rumor has a little of truth in it.

So they would only add some wii specific minigames? hmm, House of the Dead is a brainless shooter but Shenmue is a much more serious game, I hope they add at least some side-quests for both games.

An old rumor reborn. I remember hearing about this a year or two ago, though they said it would be a Shenmue three pack with the third installment.
Later it was proven false.

Sounds like the rumor just got broght up again.

I'll beleive it when I see it, but till then I dont think they ever will bring that franchise back.

Hears hoping though, but I wont hold my breath.

= do want.

Shenmue 1 was amazing, and I never played the second, because I didn't have the DC version at the time, and wanted to continue with my original save.

and now that I do, my dreamcast is nowhere to be found...

I can see QTE events with the wiimote being very fun.

Personally, that's not good news (if true). More Dreamcast games on Wii. It's bad enough when we get PS2 ports, but damn! Not to mention the fact that 2 was already on Xbox. These dudes need to either put that stuff in the vault and forget about it, or consider selling each game as a $5-10 WiiWare title. Otherwise...

Yeah, I bet that some people would like to play Epic Adventures on WiiWare for 10 bucks... (

Shenmue in 3h)

Personally I`m very glad, that SEGA is porting some DC-titels. For example I never played Samba de Amigo and now I get the chance to do so.

And gfx are not that important so ports of games many people might hadn`t the chance to play are a good thing, I guess.

And come on... it's SHENMUE

It'll probably be a budget release (if true) for about £30 which ain't that bad to be honest if you consider that if they were on WiiWare or VC they would be 1500 points for each.

I'd prefer a proper remake, though its a classic for people like me for others it may play a little dated, but then it cost SEGA millions to make it in the first place so maybe they won't want to spend much more.

It's not a port, it's a completely new game. Now, if SEGA wanted to do the same with Shenmue, I'd be cool with that. Otherwise...not so much.

And gfx are not that important...

Yeah, that's why HDTV sales keep going up.
