Ok I have followed Stephaniie guide to mod my Wii.

I have the HBC installed and working, Priiloader, and some other stuff but my Wii freezes all the time when I try to change the IOS or when I try to start any USB loader.

Now I think the loaders freeze because my IOS isn't the right one but my Wii won't let me change it because it is always freezing.

My IOS list keeps saying that IOS 249 is a stub. I dont know what that means.

Anyways I don't know if I need to revert my Wii back to stock then remod it with ModWii.

I'm no expert with these things, but try to re-download IOS 249 again, only this time through wifi. That's what helped me out. Keep going back and following the instructions from Step three (from 5:38 on the video), only always doing it from wifi, and not the SD card.

If the problem persists, you might have to restart the whole process.

I'm confused on why people don't use modmii.
I mean seriously, why follow online guides when there's a one click solution.

it is not one click.... modmii is a program that asks your options, automatically downloads the stuff for you (it even places them ready on the sd card) then it opens a guide on how to install it and you just have to put the sd card back onto wii and follow instructions

but you already knew that....

and it's a double click (to open the program, depends on OS config...) then some keyboard typing.... if you don't count the double click to open then its just keyboard typing...

but yes indeed, it's really simple, you dont have to "look for guide. In guides usually they are lots of "click here to get to this other page (which sometimes its a file host where you input captcha and wait for download) so you can download that file you need in that single step, then in next step there will be more downloads....
you don't have to unzip every single file you download....
modmii also verifies if files were downloaded correctly and automatically re-download them without any hassle...
you usually don't need to worry about being outdated or diferent guides... (people can do the guides in several ways...) you don't need to look for the "most recent" guide... (there are lots of websites with ancient guides in which you needed twilight hack and outdated downloads)

modmii does the job for us... i really which i had a modpsp or modps3 back into the days....

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
