Hardware Send my 3DS for screen swap?

Hey guys! Was wondering if anyone knew anywhere I could send my 3DS to get dual IPS screens put in? I've looked around on Google and heard of a guy here that did it for some people but can't seem to find him. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Is this for a New 3DS XL? It's next to impossible finding an IPS version of that bottom lcd. Your best bet is calling local Apple and Mac 3rd party repair shops for contract work in swapping your top screen. You supply them the screen, ifixit tutorial guide, and their quoted labor cost, they'll take care of the rest.

If you absolutely must get dual IPS panels, your best bet is in either buying an unsold (but new) stocks of special edition releases like:

• Legend of Zelda Hyrule
• Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
• Fire Emblem Fates
  
• Metroid: Samus Returns
  
• Super NES

Special editions are most likely to ship with them, but there is no guarantee you'll get dual IPS unit.

Awesome bro, thanks. Didnt know the bottom screen was so bad. Yes its a New 3Dsxl So best bet for dual IPS is just keep buying and selling systems or spend out the wazzoo for a dual ips on eBay?

There's a way to indirectly determine if a N3DSXL has single top or dual IPS screens by using a digital kitchen scale. Units with IPS screens are heavier. You're going to look like a weirdo druggy looking for that hit of IPS walking in stores measuring those retail boxes but who gives a rats (just explain your situation to the employees).

Read up the guide in how to determine TN vs IPS here. Might have to search what the exact weights are for those ones with IPS.

If you plan to purchase online, your best bet is Amazon with the Super NES edition as they're still in stock. Be careful not to abuse Amazon's return policy because they can and will ban you shopping there if you return too many times.

So I dont know what I was thinking before but my top N3DSXL has an IPS! Yay! Bottom is TN, but like you said finding a good condition bottom IPS is hard. Thank you so much for all the info. Glad to know ive got IPS for the screen you look at 90% of the time at least.
