My case mod is not done. Back on topic.

Was gonna go play my Sega Genesis.and it wasn't displaying correctly. Very fuzzy images. I pulled it out normally and I got this

So I tried putting the metal thing back on, plugged it in and it came off in the Genesis. Is there a way to fix this? (This happens days before my birthday). If anyone is wondering what Model I have of the Sega Genesis, I have a model 1.

That end at least should be a standard "phono"/RCA plug- I have never found a good way to replace tips that snapped off like that (certainly nothing you can easily do at home compared to the rest of the post) and instead tend to replace the cable or sacrifice another cable (unlike most other cables and useful things they seem to breed whenever I stick them in the draw and if not wander on down to your local tat shop (I don't know if they are dollar store material) and grab one) in the case of a device that has the cable held internally or it has a custom end.

If you do have to get creative though

RF box for NES should get you by. Those are everywhere.

What you'll want to consider later, is save up for some kind of s-video device or similar. Genesis has a horrid encoder. Starting from the system's RGB lines will bypass that.
It's not hyperbole how good things can look! The investment to enable using them correct really is worth every cent to serious users. A high end setup provides much closer to the arcade sharpness these games are created and envisioned in.

Just bought a universal rf connector made for snes, nes and genesis at Play N Trade. Won't be able to test til I get home. That S Video you mentioned Lumstar, picking one up sometime today.

Yeah too bad most Genesis external s video converters are rare and expensive imports... :(
So I'm not certain of their quality or compatibility. I've heard about a few types from Japan.

I'd very much recommend getting s video advice from someone smarter than me before deciding what option to take. Don't want to waste money on a pricey box then not like it.

It seems XMD-2 should be for model 1 / SMS 1 / etc.

While XMD-3 should be for model 2 / 32X / CDX / Nomad / etc.

There might be others of course.

You can buy one but between http://members.optusnet.com.au/eviltim/gamescart/gamescart.htm and http://pinouts.ru/VideoCables/scart_adapter_pinout.shtml should you somewhere without nice things like SCART (wow never thought I would use that phrase) you can probably knock your own device together.
