I have not used any homebrew yet on my poor 3.0.1 Switch but I'm pretty sure I read somewhere you need to format it as FAT32.

the payload (hekate 1.3 CTCaer)is supposed to support Exfat
Yeah it does, for actions (like nand dumping) carried out in the menu it brings up from RCM. Once you leave the menu and the Switch's OS takes over, that uses its own file system code, and needs the update for exfat.

Maybe there'll be a hack way to install the exfat driver without updating the system, maybe there won't, but there isn't yet.

SDXC standard requires the SD Card to be formatted ExFAT. ExFAT requires paying royalties to Microsoft. Instead of paying out royalties to every Switch purchased Nintendo made it so it calls home to let them know they have to pay royalties for your Switch to Microsoft. However when it calls home to Nintendo it will also make you update your Switch to the latest version. What you can do is format your SD Card as Fat32 using guiformat (https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...iformat-fat32-simple-windows-sd-card-t2960190) and the prompt will go away.

Thanks for the help

Yea i ended up just using a formatting tool to force my sd card to fat32 until then
