I recently bought a switch from ebay (worst mistake of my life) and when I put a micro SD card it says “ Unable to read SD card”
So I bought another SD card reader but it didn’t work either.
The pins in the motherboard seems to be fine.
Can someone tell what is the issue??

You probably got short somewhere on the SD card pins on the motherboard, you need to use a multi-meter to trace where it is short and solder a wire to the flex cable to replace the contact point that it needs in order to read the SD card. See post #11

Yes, but the pins on the motherboard does not look to be missing one or two ?

they may look Prestine and have the same problem to the missing ones.
the problem is where the solder point of the pin''s is touching or not (short) the mother board , that's the hole point.
you need to look with a magnifier or multimeter.
good look.

I have seen a few deivce came in with the connector(motherboad side) has broken solder joint, not missing pin legs though. You can barely tell from eye until you use a fine tweezer or prob pushing the pins see if they move or loose

Can you show where exactly is the problem in the motherboard, like take a screen shot of my picture and point at it ? , because I don't much experience with this kind of stuff.

you are not missing any pin on this connector but you may not see by eye if red point solder joint are solid or loose. try push them 1 by 1 to see if any of those loose

Thanks a ton for pointing that out, I will try that out today.

You still can have non working connection even though the pins looks like there are no missing gold plate, it is not making contact from the flex to the motherboard.
I tried to do something to the solder joint but I don't know how to fix it. All I can manage to do is replacing the SD card reader, so it looks like I will have to buy a new Switch.
