SD card reader components

The little components for the sd card reader circuit on back of board(circled in photo-not my photo I borrowed it from google). How important are they? And what are they if one had to replace them? I am missing the second one from the top to be exact.

NO! capacitors are not like resistors

even a shorted capacitor is a danger

I think they meant bridging where the missing resistor was.

yes, but you CAN NOT replace a capacitor with a short! never, sometimes a resistor can be but never a cap.

So in this case if this is in fact a 0ohm resistor I can bridge the pads right?

ok, I am mixing two threads, one about a cap and this.

Yes a 0 ohm resistor is a piece of cable they exist because are convenient on assembly lines.
