Hi folk!

I have some trouble with two screens on one of my 3DS XL.

Long time ago, I broke the clip for the large ribbon of bottom screen. No trouble about it, I fix it properly with some tape and it went perfect!

Now, since few days, I have some display troubles:

- top screen, in game when playing 2D seems to have a bad refresh. Thin moving vertical lines are visible and give me some headaches. No problem on homescreen, and nothing really noticeable in 3D.

- bottom screen have weird colors. Not a full fuschia or yellow screen... This is more like a point raster with bad colors or when you have not enough colors in your palette for a GIF image. This is slightly noticeable on light screens (like home), and more noticeable on some games like Pokémon X PSS screen or Smash Bros damage counters.

I unmounted/mounted again the motherboard and cables.... But the trouble is still here.
Top screen problem persist when bottom screen display ribbon is not connected.

Any idea where the problem come of and how to fix it?

No idea about the origin of this issue guys?

After some tests and some search on the Web, I do not think the problem is with the screens themselves, the ribbons or the connectors... So it must be the motherboard (a chip or a circuit).
I have no motivation to test an other one, so I think this one is good for junk.

are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
