Hacking Screen capturing feature

Are we still far away from having something that'll be able to take videos directly from the screen like the 400$ capture card does or at least screenshots? Or are we still far from it? Thanks.

I think NTR has a screenshot function that works in-game, and on the N3DS, you can post screenshots directly to Miiverse. There's still nothing that can do the job of a capture card mind.
