Hacking saves lost on my M3

ok so i ordered an M3 and passkey3 and i got it right blah blah

so i play some MPH and unlock a few stages and hunters

come play it next morning, and i dont have them anymore
what gives?

everytime i boot up it says something like

NDSSAVE found but backup failed or some bullshit. i also noticed that it misspels autosave (spells i ATUOSAVE)

anyone got any info?

Did you use the software provided by m3 to write the game to your sd card? If not you need to. This will auto create a savegame.dat file with the right filename so your saves work. You can also create these manually in the ndssave directory, but you need to make sure the filename matches your rom name exactly except for the extension. The extension is .dat

i used the newest game manager downloaded from M3 website.

nevermind i figured it out, its cause i renamed the rom file and messed some stuff up

Yeah you have to make sure the DAT files has the name FileName as the NDS file. Or you have to save/load manualy the dat file.
