You talking about Slot-1 save to offiical NDS save? If so possibly another way would be to go from Slot-1 to Slot-2 to official. Obviously with out already having a Slot-2 device laying around it would be an expensive alternative.

Unless you have a slot-2 device (a fully independent one, with it's own memory etc.) then the only way to do it is using wifi. (I believe)

Any DS homebrew app that uses Wifi won't work with the official Nintendo USB wifi adapter unless you install modified drivers to turn it into a SoftAP. Guides to do this can be found via Google.
