Hiya! I've been thinking about modding my switch for one reason, editing my chunks and tickets in Splatoon 2. I dont know if this is safe or not, and since its the only reason id really mod my switch id like to know how safe it is before i go into it. The only software I have/know of is SplatHeX, which i did look through the thread and sorta found people saying its safe, some saying its iffy and you shouldn't attempt it, etc.. That being said, its also a pretty outdated thread, so I've been wondering for a while. If anybody could give me a good answer for this id really appreciate it, ty!

It's safe if you only play it offline. Any sort of modifications to the NAND come with a higher risk of bans if you go online. Additionally, Nintendo take cheating/modding in Splatoon very seriously and have a history of banning people who do so, even back on the Wii U.

Do you know if theres a limit where its dangerous or not? Would it be safe to just 99 & 999 everything or should i only edit them in in small groups? I asked someone today & they said its a ban no matter what, since you cant bypass a check they do. I cant seem to get a for sure answer

Whoops, meant to say it's safe if you only play it offline.
The splathex site mentions which modifications are the most dangerous: https://mirayxs.github.io/SplatHeX/SplatHeX.html
In addition, changing the stats of equipment is probably risky. It's not normal for the stats to suddenly change, normally you'd have to play online to level up your gear, also, you only have a finite amount of sea snails, which you can only get from online play, so changing the abilities of your gear when you don't have sea snails or without subtracting the number of sea snails could be easily detectable, as Nintendo likely has logs of how many sea snails you've received.
On the other hand, editing things that only affect single player may be safer but nothing is 100% safe.

do they log my chunks/tickets, or is that not really known? I remember that glitch when 2 first came out that let players get infinite tickets, and while i highly doubt anyone would have 99 of everything still now, it was something that was achievable offline, as well as the vending machine in the metro. Sorry for a lot of questions just trying to make sure, something ive been thinking about for a while & just making sure.
in splatoon 2 offline is it worth? (wanna play it but my switch is banned)
While the single player/DLC is fun, its really nothing without online services. There isnt a lot of replay value in the single player, espically since the big unlockables (hero replicas) are only able to be used online, let alone able to be obtained since you need to be online just to enter the shops.

I used splathex to edit my chunks around November and did not get banned

it's old but does the job

I've done max coins, chunks and unlocked all available gears with all 3 slots and never got banned. I play online with CFW all the time and use JKSV to restore and backup saves. Anyone who says its dangerous and you'll get banned are just scared. Avoid editing weapon. They keep track of your total in your save and if it doesnt add up correctly, you'll get banned. Also try not to restore a old save and play it online. Its basically save scumming and get you banned if you use it in online. Always dump your latest save if you plan on editing
