A non mark 2 series 16gb pro duo? mmmm... I can't find much on that but that much seems legit so far and there's no listing for what should be on the back of a non mark 2. If it's not a fake then honestly if your card is still messing up after you've formatted it then I'd get a replacement as its obviously busted.

The games run fine, its just the iso/cso read speeds are very slow..
I dunno whether or not the next will be just the same..

Ohhhhh I see well in that case there's only a few more things I'd do. If your games are loading fine but the more isos/csos you add the more it takes to load then the last thing I'd do is go back to m33-6 and see if that speed up ms access thing helps any or you could try overclocking to 333 to see if that helps.

That's really the last thing I could advise and if the firmware thing doesn't work then I'd be stumped.

CSOs are basically compressed ISOs they uncompress data as you load it (not sure if it's a when it's needed thing) so slower loading times are to be expected, any games that have real flashy action scenes and decent graphics "should" be either kept in ISO format or CSO but with a lesser compression level.

I can't comment on Promethius for it's loading time I've never used it I'm a 5.00 M33-6 user myself and loading times have never ever bothered me.
If you plan on ordering a new card I say WAIT!
Try a different ISO format (again either .ISO or .CSO but wiht lesser compression) if that is still the same try another CFW and see if that fixes it.
If neither works it's definately the stick.

It seems that Crisis core is a cso, while tekken 6 is an iso.
Nonetheless, i have tekken 3, sens emu, gba emu, digimon world and gbc emu.
Everything loads fairly quick apart from digimon world.

Also, im not sure how to check how compressed an iso or cso is, or how to lower its compression level.

Well, Tekken 6, an iso, loads really quick, faster than the eboots.
Is it maybe because i made the EBOOTs for Tekken 3 and Digimon world that they are slower? Would it be better to dl the EBOOTS straight?
Also, how can i convert a cso to an iso?

it said 14gb before i formatted too :\

EDIT: That's odd, formatted, plugged into comp, usb mode, i check the stick properties, it says 14.8GB free, although also says 15,996,420,096 bytes of free space available, which from what i understand is 15.9GB..
Used space is 640KB

that makes sense because 1 gigabyte = 1 073 741 824 bytes, everyone just thinks its 1 000 000 000 ( google ftw

how do you check if the memory stick is genuine again? i have a 8gb sandisk memory stick, magic gate of course.
You can go here: LINK

Saken: The only way to change compression level of any game(PSP/PSX) is to decompress it then compress it again to which ever level you want. It's pointless however because no matter what compression level you use it'll still load in the same amount of time, it's just going to take you longer to compress the game. You can use UMDGen 4.0 to decompress a CSO to an ISO or compress the game to a different level. I've yet to find a utility to tell me the compression level of a CSO.

There's no difference between your created eboot and someone else's(or even sonys)as long as it runs. You can extract the game and rebuild your PSX eboot without compression to see if that helps but honestly compression in PSX games won't affect performance as much as PSP games do. I've never found a PSX game that didn't load just fine with compression level 9.

Ok, the biggest prob i experienced was with FFVII Crisis Core. On my 16gb stick, it took 10 secs at least to read it, then it lagged incredibly hard in game.
As in, it took around 30secs to 1 min for the Square Enix logo to pop up, and the intro movie lagged every 2 secs. Then before the start menu popped up, it crashed, well.. music still playing but nothing showing on screen.
So i thought it was the CSO.
However, i put FFVII Crisis Core on my 2GB stick and it runs perfect, and reads in around 2 secs. Also no lag problems.
So that brings it down to the Stick. There must be something iffy about it..

EDIT: Im not sure if this matters but the save files for tekken 3 and digimon world are a pic of this old guy with white hair and mustache wearing a black dracula coat, and a very creased white shirt.

Thats a bug with PSX2PSP. I've created games using this tool before and it had the same issue. When I had spotted it I thought it was a corrupted save. It can be fixed by making sure you select a PSP icon for your PSX game when your making it or else it just defaults to Dracula from Castlevania SOTN. You can still change the save icon manually by loading that eboot through PSX2PSP I believe, though its really just cosmetic and your save is 100% fine.

If your cards legit and you bought it from a store recently then return it or hope you have a warranty. I feel sorry for you though, I could never go back to my 1gb after upgrading to 16gb and it seems your stuck with that 2gb for now.

It might not be the mem stick, i read on some sites that the 16GB mem stick is FAT32 and cso runs slowly on that.. while my 2GB is FAT16
Also, im running 5.50 Prometheus and i saw on other sites that the lag problems fix if downgraded to 5.00 M33 or 5.03 not sure.
I dont want to format 16GB to FAT16 because that will limit the space to 2GB so no point..

Downgrade to 5.00-6 with hell's recovery tool and set the MS access setting to always and tell us if thats fixed everything. I've always used 5.00-6 and I always formatted my stick from the PSP, I never had issues with my 16gb card so if there are issues then 5.00-6 will fix em.

Apparently csos play really bad on 16GB sticks, so i decompressed to ISO and it works fine.
Just now i put a ctf on and it lags when selecting in menus, like 5-6 seconds to open contents of mem stick ea time.

Actually it's the firmware itself, not the homebrew -

About the dracula icon, as i guess a lot of people will ask why their ps1 icons get the dracula icon

There is a bug (i think it is a bug and not done on purpose) in 3.80 pops (Sony code), that causes a crash if the icon is not 80x80. This even happened with the original hot shots bought in november 2006 (the current one in the psstore has the icon 80x80 though). To correct the bug, popcorn.prx module replaces the icon in ram by that 80x80 dracula icon.
