Homebrew Question Sakura wars 1 black screen

I've been playing sakura wars 1 English patched on the yabause emulator on switch retroarch and it works really well actually. But once i beat the first battle the screen fades to black and presumably freezes. I've download another patched game to see if that'd work and that one froze just before the fade to black. I'm at a loss as to what i can do to make it work which sucks because i was really looking forward to getting into this game.

I looked it up. I think the psp version doesn't have an English patch. As much as i wish i knew Japanese, sadly that isn't the case lol

I'm surprised that the translator didn't bother with the PSP version of the game considering how tough Sega Saturn emulation is on console still (outside of Xbox One/One X and Series X/S)
