Some guy booted Hekate, ran Retroarch, and cleared error logs on 5.X to be met with a ban not too soon afterwards. He claims to have been ban-free for a while up until the moment he cleared error logs. He also notes that he suffered from numerous crashes. I would definitely say that clearing error logs introduces its own inherent risk that is not mitigated through its actions.
Heh, that sounds very interesting.
I am still not banned and have done the following:
- Used "normal" homebrew apps both online and offline
- LayeredFS (both for loading backups and mods)
- Experienced crashes with both above, and gone online with those crash reports.
- Cleared logs numerous times
- Used dev / kiosk apps both online and offline.
- Installed unsigned NSP's, and prod encrypted from dev to retail apps, and "backup" nsp's.
- SX OS (offline)
- Accessed Shogun / bugyo with the same account linked to my console via non legitimate means
- Other private stuff
Only thing I have done to mitigate bans, is turn of sharing usage data in account settings after the whole EU thing was discovered. Been using Hekate since its release.
Also had all the auto update / share error report stuff turned off on the console.
Been playing online games (legit purchased) the entire time without issue.
