Hardware s-video cable & 480p

I have got myself a s-video cable. When it is connected to my TV the image is scrambled and therfore I am unable to select 480p.
How can I get round this problem?

Any help and suggestions would be gratefully received.

s-video doesn't support 480p. You need component for it.

Okey dokey, that's cleared up but I'm still wondering why there is a scrambled image.

If it's scart connected try the other scart socket if you have another. often on TV's only 1 of 2 scart connectors support s-video.

No it's specifically an s-video connector.

It might be built for ntsc consoles only.
