...In Arkham Origins.

And for those of you that have been living in a rock or think the only Batman is Christian "RUHDUHDUHDUHDUHD" Bale, the REAL voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy will not be reprising his role for the next game, which will be a prequel (obviously) to Asylum and City.

Unfortunately, Kevin Conroy will not be voicing Batman in the upcoming video game Batman: Arkham Origins. NAG Magazine revealed the news in their May issue. They state that WB Games Montreal wants to use a new younger actor because the game features Batman in his early years. The new actor hasn’t been revealed yet.

The game is due out later this year for all major platforms (PS3,360,PC,WiiU) and will not be developed by Rocksteady Studios (who developed Arkham Asylum and the fantastic Arkham City).

No Paul Dini (writer for the 2 batman games)
No Mark Hamill (Apparently Joker died at the end of City but I call Bullshit)
No Kevin Conroy
No Rocksteady Studios
Apparent Multiplayer being added

My hopes of this game being good are fading.

I sure as hell haven't been living under a rock and I don't know who Kevin Conroy is.

Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker ..you certainly know them, even though you haven't knew their names ....but if you don't know their voices, then you don't know Batman, and is living under a rock indeed

This guys not being voicing in a Batman game is blasphemy !!

What other things have they been in?

Nooooo...I would be able to (grudgingly) handle Kevin Conroy not reprising his role, but there's no Rocksteady OR the original writer of the series? Ugh. When too many things start changing, that usually is a bad sign.

Well ..Kevin Conroy voices all things batman for 22 years or so.. ..I don't know his filmography, but talking about the batman universe, he IS the Batman.
Mark Hamill has done the Joker for as long, I think ...he is awesome as so.. ...And you may remember him as the original Luke Skywalker ;)

edit: Bah ..Shadow was faster :p .

Mark Hammil was Skywalker in Star Wars is his most famous.

And kevin conroy IS the voice of batman. He's been doing his voice since the animated series back in the 90's. Hell, look at his IMDB:

OOOOHHHHHH!!!

Wow, I know who you mean now. That kinda sucks, this guy pretty much captures Batman perfectly.

Meh, in France we have our own different cast so yeah.. I still have to play them sitting in my backlog err.. Still have to watch the last movie too. LOVED Begins, bored with Dark Knight.

I read a game informer that had An article on the hands on experience with Arkham Origins.
Tbh, I still have complete faith in the game, the article has stated that it has stayed VERY true to the other two games in the series.

Lots of voice changes in the past couple of years. Harley Quinn, the Joker, Lara Croft, Solid Snake, and now Batman's long-time voice actor is leaving the role to make way for a new voice.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if I saw the headline, "Link finally gains a voice in The Legend of Zelda U."

*EDIT*
They should just use Morgan Freeman's voice for everything. Problem solved.

To be fair, they're going for a younger Batman with this game, so going for a different voice is sensible enough. Besides, I love Kevin Conroy, but it's not like he's the only person who could ever handle the role. And considering that playing The Joker was killing Mark Hamill's voice (he actually started coughing up blood because of it), I can't blame him for wanting to go out on a high note.

I'd totally be up for the voice cast of Under The Red Hood taking over for future games. NPH as Nightwing and John DiMaggio as the Joker? Hell yes.

He was? I've never heard of this. I had a feeling it was putting strain on his voice considering his age and the type of voice he was doing. Reminds me of Linkin Park's Chester with his singing. It must put so much strain on the throat, but apparently he did some training so all the pressure was being put on his stomach or something.

So even his own body was trying to stop Linkin Park? And he conquered it with treatment?

It's official - Science has gone too far.

BOOO ADDING AN ADDITIONAL FUNCTION TO THE GAME IS BAD.

Holy fuck are gamers so self entitled that they'll complain about additional aspects of the game (like multiplayer) being added? It's not like every game sacrifices single player for multiplayer. Although if the game does vice versa everyone's okay with it.
