well, i'll just avoid saying he's batshit crazy, even though he might be, may not be, it actually seems like he wants to do good, but he is a little misguided. People like him i think because he is honest about his beliefs and such and sticks by them, even if he would want to revert the US back to late 1800's early 1900's america. No you weren't acting stupid at at all. I just realized that I was ultimately talking to a Sociology teacher of some sort, through you. Nothing to be ashamed of. We've all taken positions that we may be new to that someone else has proposed. That's part of growing and when you can defend your position through research, then nobody can faze you.

I saw ron paul interviewed on a talk show.
When asked about the war, he said he would withdraw all troops. When questioned about how many that was, he said "alot" The news guy had to tell him the rough estimate, and then asked if he meant withdrawing all of them in iraq, or all of them worldwide. He said worldwide.
Although I, like scorned, am a kid and haven't scratched on the issue of ron paul all that much (GO BIDEN!!! :< WHY DID YOU DIE ON US?!) I am 90% sure that withdrawing all our troops from every country in the world is a stupid move. On the other hand, while hillary may not fix the economy, her winning would spark a new wave of feminism across the country that would hopefully finally put women on even standing with men. Seriously, she's done a great job as a senator and has been through 8 years of great presidential experience. She fights for a lot of good causes and gets a lot of good done. Almost every other country in the world is run by a woman and they are almost all better off than the U.S.

Time to play devils advocate. I was in Iowa during the caucus, and got to try and convince some richardson supporters to go hillary. Their response to my nagging was perfect.

I'm not political at all. In fact, in my opinion it doesn't matter who our president is. He's just a figurehead to keep us placated that we have and know who our leader is all the while the true rulers run things from the shadows.

However, I read those links that someone posted trying to discredit Ron Paul saying he's a racist. It's classic tactics like this that prove we're all brainwashed by media.

Some random guy creates a website and blogs about how racist one of the candidates is and you use it as ammo in an argument.

Ron Paul believes in what we should all believe in.
That it's OK to EVERYONE to be proud of who they are, not just certain groups of people.

He believes that people who work hard and have a right to be here should reap the rewards of their hard work. Not that we should work hard partially to support the ones that don't want to work.

He also believes that if we, as Americans, don't want certain parasites coming to our land and leeching off of us, we shouldn't be afraid to do something about it; that, in fact, it behooves us.

He is the only one out of ALL of them that seems to speak clearly on behalf the country he's proud of and not on behalf of certain groups of interest (ie. contributors, health care companies, media, racial groups).

And do you know what they did wrong? They get paid to be the oversight orginization and regulate traded equities. When all of this mortgage/subprime mess was building up they were sitting in the corner fiddling instead of putting a stop to it. They rubber stamped the worst kind of debt (borrowers who don't have to prove they are capable of paying the loan back) into repackaged shiny pretty mutual funds which we fed to domestic and foreign investors. Now they're mad at us, banks are folding, Americans are getting further in debt and the US Dollar is sinking relative to commodities and other currencies, so even more countries are releasing their USD peg. It's a chain reaction. They share responsibility, but you're right. Everyone should like them because they are daddy government.
