Huzzah, I strike again with v5.2 being released
biggrin.gif

v5.2 Release Notes
[FIX] Any email address is now recognized, since there were people with weird suffixes in their emails, so I got rid of suffix checking; it'll now just make sure that it resembles an email.

[FIX] If you checked the box to append dates to save files, even though the setting would save and be active, next time going into the Settings it would show it as disabled, even though it is active.

[+] Netherlands has been added as a new region.

[FIX] Changed the way Rominator sorts the games, now it sorts 10x faster than before.

[FIX] Fixed a bug that would not display the full game name if a .rz file was dropped onto Rominator.

[FIX] Fixed an identification bug, now Zips should properly identify when using 'Identify' in the Actions dropdown.

[+] Added in a Region Filter for the Box Art Manager, so you only need to download the boxes for the regions you want to.

[FIX] Fixed bug in Box Art Manager that would crash when clicking on the box by accident.

[FIX] Fixed a bug with transferring Zip games over to your flash card from your list -- They should now transfer properly. Transferring Zip through the Rom Queue may still not work properly -- Baby steps!

[FIX] Changed title bar to say 'Update XXXX', where XXXX is the number of roms in the database, instead of 'XXXX Games in DB'

[+] Updated rZip format to rZip v3, which now incorporates the CRC directly into the Rom, which now makes for instant recognition with the Rom Validator in the Toolbox. If you want to convert your current rZipped games to v3, just decompress them and recompress them. It'll compress with v3 that contains the auto-checksum info.

The rZipper tool has also been updated to v1.3, to reflect the new rZip:
Download for Mac OS X
Download for Windows

Any feedback is much appreciated!

Duh!

And I also have a question:

Would you mind explaining me what do the 4 color options do? Cause here they don't do anything.
I've set the so they are blue, but nothing IS blue :S

Halp me pl0x, o mighty god!

Is the linux version being dropped?

Either that or it is behind on development. I know that Hank has had alot of difficulty in getting that one to work properly as there are so many distros and they all vary just slightly. Some distros would have it crash and others would have it quit silently. I don't know if there were any cases where it did work properly. Regardless Hank has stated in the past that if the linux version didn't work to use the Windows version within Wine as it does work there fine.

Hurray! Thanks, Henry!

Just to tell you, you forgot a space in-between Update and XXXX on Macs.

Minor, minor issue

Oh and it is like that on the Windows one too but yea. Minor issue. Nothing to worry about. Now to decompress and recompress all my games to the new rZip v3. Great job Hank!

Sorry to have to make you recompress

I tried to have it to it would inject the V3 data into the rZipped game, but it just wouldn't go, so the best way and most failsafe was to made it that decompressing and recompressing. For speedy results, use the rZipper tool

It's ok. I've already decompressed all of them and now just have to go back and recompressed them all. I never said it was a bad thing.

Affirmative. Linux edition still errors out.

Runtime Error 4: Failed Assertion
Press OK to Continue
Press Cancel to Quit.

Please report what caused this error
along with the information below.

../Common/loaderX86.cpp: 268
Failure Condition: lib->mLibraryHandle
Missing shared library /usr/lib/libc.so

Almost looks like the linux version could benefit from a static build being released. The above error is indicating a missing library (libc in this case) and may of been avoided by simply having it statically compiled in. Don't know how easy that is though given the environment. Regardless the library should be installed because I can imagine that Rominator can't be the only one doing a dynamic link to the libc library.

I'm using the windows version and I cannot see the box art sidebar. Is this normal or did I break something?

I was wondering the same thing when I downloaded this a few days ago. Turns out you have to drag-n-drop the little bar on the far right of the window to view the box art sidebar.

Yeah, it's been mentioned a hundred times. I'm thinking I might just add 'Show Details' back up in the menu so it'll automatically pop out the slider.

Same thing about the Linux version. The compiler seems to have broken it. A bug has been submitted to the developers of my IDE, so all I can do is wait. For now, if you cannot run the Linux version, run the Windows version instead.

Hey! I really like your Programm. The Rom managment is great and one thing I'm really excited about is the save-files-thingy. But when I open the save manager from the toolbox i get this error:
fehlerkgj.png

May you explain how to use the save managment? I don't know how to use it
frown.gif
Must I rename every savefile to fit the rom?

greets from germany

Looks like a bug creeped in there. I'll fix it and just release a 5.2.1 patch today.

As for save managment, no you do NOT need to rename anything at all! From the Tools menu, go to 'Show Game Saves', this will allow you to see the saves for a selected game. If you Import a save, it can keep its name that you gave it, or call it whatever you want by double clicking on it when it's in your list.

The Toolbox Save Manager that is giving the errors is for reorganizing already existing saves. You click on a game in the Save list it shows you, and you can drag saves from the right list of save games to the left list of games, and it'll move it to that game's folder.

thanks a lot

edit: almost forgot my suggestion: Is it possible to have the roms named %n - blabla and not showing the number in the rominator list? Because the number has a own column, it looks ugly if the number is in the name columns mentioned either.

edit2:
This happens when I try to copy roms to r4

Ugh, that Rom Queue is pissing me off
tongue.gif

I'll check it out

As for having the game name shown differently (without the number), no. The name you see should always represent the name of the file. It's just a small thing you'll need to get over

EDIT: Bugs have been fixed, I'll update very shortly.
