Wow, nice. I like rZip.

This rzip feature was unexpected, nice work. I don't collect every nds games so it won't save me like 10gb, but still, a badass feature.
NDS + Rominator

Oooo what about changing the name in database view without changing the filename? Its so redundant to see 0458 PICTURE 0458 - Cars (E)

Also i submitted some other bugs and stuff using the in system submit tool. Maybe too many. Also when decompressing a file I get the error that says there has been an error while decompressing this file. It isn't on a write protected volume since its my hard drive also it actually decompresses fine even though the error pops up. And selecting a rom that is rzipped and hitting rename from database crashed rominator for me (but I'm vista so who knows, anyone else?)

rZip has some amazing compression. One thing I noticed though is that on 64MB and 128MB files though the progress bar does not update. It updates fine for lower files though.

EDIT: Said megabit when I meant megabyte. Big difference there.

here's another invalid crc-entry:
Code:
Game Name: 1152 - Pokemon Toroje (K)(iND)
Database CRC: 18996B2
File CRC: Â Â 018996B2
Pass: No

so, same as the former issue with #1098: leading zero missing

.

regards

ps: so far i do not see any other invalid crc-entries from 0001 to 1188:).

Hey you think you can add Tingle's Balloon Fight and Game and Watch Collection? I can find you box arts. ;D lol
I know they were dumped by Caravan they're both (J). I dunno the rest but I can research for you.
biggrin.gif
They have no rom numbers either unfortunately.

By the way I forgot to add, great application!

It'll be on my to-do list to add in the XXXX games

Thanks

Oh, Shinji, I forgot to mention, the bar not updating is a Windoze issue. I'll be doing what I can to fix those kind of issues. I got your suggestion as well
smile.gif
No worries, I'll be making a separate rZip tool too
biggrin.gif

Thanks to those who've submitted their suggestions and bug reports through Rominator. It makes life much easier when they come straight to my inbox

After I get the bugs kicked out, I'll be working on making Rominator multi-threaded -- this will probably solve the progress bar issue.

@_mrshl_: Yeah, you noticed I updated the new CRC's eh?

happy.gif
-- I'll make that one fix for the next DB update.

So the bar is updating properly on Mac OS then? It wasn't that big of a deal but it would be good to know visually how far it got.

Also good news that you do plan on creating a standalone tool. I'll look forward to it.

Keep up the excellent work!

Yep, works fine in Mac OS X. This is because Mac OS X double-buffers it's windows, so you'll never get non-updating bars, flickering windows when refreshing, etc. Windoze doesn't do this.

The tool will be available shortly. It'll be probably just a command line tool to make it very small... but then again, you might want batch processing, so I might attach a GUI to it

Thanks for all your support. I've received some more suggestions/bug reports so I'll be taking those into account and fixing the reported issues.

Hey could anyone let me know where the library cache is stored under windows vista. Thanks

Sweet! The compression rocks! And so does the app in general
tongue.gif
Thanks for everything, hank!

No its not I duel boot vista and XP on two seperate hard drives I have done a full search of both under XP (as it will show hidden files more easly than vista) and I can only find the files from the XP installation. Its weird as it must be storeing the file somewhere but try as I might i canot find it.

EDIT
oh by the way C:\Documents and Settings\~Your Name\Application Data\Rominator Data does not exist under vista a comparable path would be C:\Users\~Username~ but nothing relating to rominator is located there.

Eh quick way for vista, type %appdata% into the start menu search box and find the rominator folder in the folder called roaming. easy.

Dont want to sound ungrateful because I love the program, but how far away is a standalone rz decompresser?

I rzipped all my roms, then told it to rename them based on database, that caused a program crash and seemed to corrupt my data files because the program would not start again. Now all my roms are in rz files, and the program will only recognise around 10% of them.

The standalone Rz compressor isn't far.

Don't forget though, there's an IDENTIFY button which will identify the selected rz files!

Hey, i'm running mac osx 10.4.10 and ever since updating rominator to version 4 I can't get rominator to see my microsd when it's mounted on the system. I've added to the list of "flash carts" in rominator but it won't show up even though osx can see it perfectly. Any ideas whats wrong here?
