I've read today that this game is also coming out for PS2 very soon. I always wanted to try out the drum set but the problem is, I've never really played drums before. Can this game actually teach you how to play drums? Or at least give you the basics of drumming ? From the videos I watched, it looks pretty hard[especially on expert] but I really want to try this thing out. Anyone actually have Rock Band here ?

From what I have heard, the Hard and Expert difficulty rival actually playing drums. If you've never played before, it may be a long time before you get past normal.

I've got Rock Band, and I can tell you, if you've never played drums before (like me), you'll have a hard time conquering easy, and an even harder time conquering medium. Mind you, with lots of practice, you get better. I can 5-star almost every song on Medium, but am not sure if I am ready to move up to Hard.

As underpressure116 said, playing RB drums does infact rival playing real drums. It requires the same kind of movement and coordination, so in a way it can teach you.

Oh, and apparently the PS2 version is a total watered down version of Rock Band. The Band World Tour apparently sucks -- You don't really go on a 'world tour', you just play through the songs and make money. No character customization either.

I don't really mind it, because I'll probably just download the game. I don't have an Xbox360. And from what I've heard, the PS2 peripherals work for PS3 too. So if I'll get a PS3, I can use them. If they retail the drums for about 50-60 bucks, I might actually get one.

Maybe I should just try them first...

if you have any rhythm and basic concepts of drums, its not that hard. ive beaten lots of songs on hard and some on expert, and ive only played on a real drum kit maybe 5 times at the most in my life.

I'm pretty sure the drums will be retailing for $79.99, but will not be available separately until next year.

Ouch, that's not pretty. Hmmm I guess I'll have to wait a little to buy those.

The hardest thing about the drums is the pedal, I guess. It's kinda hard to see that orange line ..
