Gaming Ripping CDs

i want to rip some audio CD tracks into the lossless .flac format.

can anyone recommend a good free program to do so?

i would like it to have a GUI and work on windows XP

EAC (Exact Audio Copy) is the best program.

Thanks, it's working good, however with this first CD it can't be found in the database

winamp recognises the CD and it's tracks...

That happened to me too, but I think putting in an email address made it work. It doesn't have to be a real email address. Try that and see if it works

yeah i put my email in, still no luck

i might try and link to local freedb database.

edit: erm, ditched that idea, im not downloading a 600megabyte database file lol.

haha i wonder if this is because it's a chinese CD LOL....

i think ????? must be the album title then... even still...

guess i am stuck with manual renaming lol

I just use CDex, it it's pretty simple though it has an annoying habit of dropping your ripped tracks into /music/mp3/ instead of /music/. Other than that, it works great. You do have to put an email in to use cddb, but that takes a whole 5 seconds.
