Just wondering if I can go back to the original IOS if I install the custom one to play backups. Would that be possible? I probably won't be reverting, but it's still nice to know there is a way to undo any changes. [IMG]

You have many IOSes, not one.

Installing cIOS will not interfere with your other IOSes.

Oh I'm sorry. I did not realize there were more IOS's (tbh I'm pretty illiterate regarding the basics). What i want to do is the following:

I want to install the backuploader. In order to do that I need the homebrew channel, so I can install a cIOS (right?). Now my question is if i can go back to the original state of my Wii, meaning going back to before I took the first step (installing homebrew channel).

I should have typed firmware instead of IOS in my first post i suppose, sorry!

cIOS's are not firmware, you don't need to 'revert' it because it doesn't alter your wii, you can remove a cIOS but mostly you don't need to your Wii is in the same state it was originally. cIOS's aren't used until they are loaded so while they aren't they effect nothing.

I'm actually not sure. I can't even remember when i last updated, must have been months ago, probably longer than half a year. It's a bit late already so I'll check it tomorrow. I think I stopped updating when I saw a newspost on wiibrew.org regarding the twilight hack being fixed with the next update. I think I can still use the "very first version" of the twilight hack.

Yea i know where to get the files and I do know how to follow instructions, that wasnt my question. [IMG]

When installing the homebrew channel, backuploader etc. the software of the Wii changes or added, whatever. My question is if I can go back to the original software, meaning deleting all custom made software and only having Nintendo software on my Wii. I'd like to have that option.
