Since multiple consoles can access retroNAS at the same time, does that mean OGXBOX LAN parties are possible using retroNAS?

Has anyone tried it? Run into problems? Limitations? Etc?

How do you want to use a OG Xbox with RetroNAS?

So far I know, RetroNAS is a file server appliance. While the OG Xbox has it games stored on optical media or the internal hard drive. It can't load games from a network file server.

It won’t let me post the link to supported clients. However, OG Xbox is supported.
Either Hardmodded or soft modded, I’d like to load games from the NAS. And I’ve seen videos of RetroNAS running the same game on 2 different PS2 consoles at the same time.
So, if that works, the hope is that you could run 1 server and multiple Xbox consoles for a LAN party. My hope was someone on these forums had prior experience and could speak to it.

If you mean this:

So far I can see, it's just for installing and backing up games. It does the same as FTP transfer the games, they run from the hard drive of the Xbox.

If you have a LAN party, I'll suggest you to install/transfer the games prior to the party instead of spending party time to transfer the games.

The PS2 can load games from SMB using OPL. So multiple PS2's can run the same game stored on the server. But the OG Xbox can't do this at the moment, it can only play games from local storage.

Sorry to be persistent.

But the project stellar mod seems to indicate Network launching is possible.
Still not letting me post links

Maybe it just doesn’t need retroNAS. And I may have been optimistic for an all in one solution.

Project stellar has claimed a lot of things that I don't think it has actually delivered on. I would deffently look through some forum post and watch some YouTube vids to see the functionality it actually has currently before investing money into the mod.
