Dynamic cores?
What does he mean by that?

The official Switch's SDK might have Vulkan support in one way or another next to Nvidia's proprietary API, though it is not confirmed.
A homebrew SDK with GL/Vulkan would be the best option to avoid proprietary (copyrighted) code.

My friend has the old Nintendo Switch SDK and thinks that there is Vulkan Support because one of the drivers for windows 10 on the SDK file was "VulkanRT-Installer.exe". Not sure if that means its also used on the Switch :/

Vulkan is extremely important for enhancing speed in the emulators like retroarch, dolphin, and ppsspp.
Of course besides gpu drivers and JIT is already implemented.

This is a thread to talk about RetroArch on the Switch, nothing else.
Please refrain from posting unrelated arguments to the topic at hand, this is not a topic to dis and piss about it.

As the screw slowly continues to swivel you know im a long time lurker here and to try to stay more on topic why does the switch ui suck so much? Also why is it not full screen in these files posted here? And for me the most confusing thing of all why is an older retroarch nes nro that does have a full screen ui better than the latest one posted here? I can show video proof of this if you like...

If it's not Fullscreen, it's running on Linux.

Retroarch on Linux and on Horizon (= Switch OS) are two different things.

Well it "sucks so much" because it's the ultimate low graphic default menu theme.
What you want is most likely the theme called "XMB" but it needs better graphic drivers and/or some one to adjust and port it.
There hasn't been much movement here in the last few weeks but just be patient. As soon as any FW can launch homebrew this will go by the speed of light and soon we'll have a much better RetroArch than now.

Thanks lordelan (that was helpful) but i am not sure if the other fellow caught what i said. I actually have an older version of retroarch nes nro which is full screen menu(??) and it runs waaaay better so whatsup? On my channel i call it a tale of two compiles...
