hi. Im new to using exploits on the Switch. is it possible to run Retroarch if my unit is "patched"? what can you do with a patched unit? does an "unpatchable" and unbannable way to run retroarch on an unpatched switch even exist?

Hello,
in short way, no, you cant use retroarch in patched units,
to use retroarch you need install CFW or linux on switch,
and in patched units for now this isn't possible yet

Edit: acctualy, like said bellow,
if find some unit in FW 4.1 you can run caffeine

Im not familiar with patched switches but i read that if you're on fw 4.1 or lower, you can run cfw

EDIT: If you are indeed on 4.1 or lower, i suggest you check out "Caffeine" exploit for patched switches

nope, switch is 9.10 i think. ill use retroarch on my psvita for now. will my switch ever be exploitable in the future tho? (without having to majorly mod its components)

Well, I don't know of any other news regarding patched, mariko, and lite
besides that tx has a solution that is (hopefully) coming soon.

It requires opening the switch tho, but the difficulty in installing this chip is still not clear. A solderless version i think will be available (hopefully)

As of now it seems very unlikely that a software exploit for patched systems with FW higher than 7.0 could be found soon. Even for 7.0 the exploit is theoretically possible but no one has bothered implementing it yet.

9.1.0 will very likely never get software hax powerful enough to do anything.
There are several known methods for running custom shit on patched and unpatched Erista units. Unfortunately the large majority of those methods require a hardmod though.
