I have RA 1.3.6 installed and have a issue getting to the in game menu.

Example:
When I load a MAME2000 game (like joust or robotron) those games have an "in game menu" that you can bring up with a button with options like:
  • Reset game
  • Input (this game)
  • Input (general)
  • Advance
  • etc..
In 1.4.1 RA, the default to bring up this in game menu, after launching the core, then launching the rom, is "R2" (when classic controller is plugged in), and "insert coin for player 1" is "-" (minus on the controller).

But in 1.3.6, no button combination brings that menu up. So how do I get to that menu?

(I don't wanna upgrade to 1.4.1 yet, there's other issues I'm having with it that are deal breakers.)

Thoughts?

I still haven't figured this out. Maybe I'm asking the wrong question.

Basically what buttons on the Wiimote / Classic Controller are configured for:
  • "Coin 1"
  • "Advance"
  • "Player 1 start"
In RA 1.3.6 for the Mame2000 core roms?

Hopefully someone knows a way to set them or what they are, I got nada.

Very interesting. I found a solution, kinda.

So I looked around and found a MAME2003 (.78) compiled core that worked in RA 1.3.6.

Anyway, when you load that core, it does have "R2" defaulted (I'm using classic controller) to bring up the in game options menu that lets you set the input like "Adavance", "coin 1", etc buttons.

So I guess this menu was just never available in MAME2000? oh well, got a work around.
