I am so happy Swapnote has (sorta) returned! It seems there's no real reason it cannot send any image however, though it's restricted itself to certain games that can take in-game screenies.

I have no idea how it determines what's a screenie and what's not, but it'd be neat if it could be tricked into sending any image. :)

If you really like this app, you probably shouldn't hope for this trick. If Nintendo notices images of any kind that they don't approve are being sent, they will almost certainly pull the app again.

I highly suggest that you do not do this because we don't want a pedophilliac malicious intent on it. However, I believe you can use the Miiverse image spoofing thing to put fake screenshots on it.

The Miiverse spoofer specifically writes to the Miiverse cloud. Swapdoodle pulls images from the SD card. Thank you for the suggestion though! I certainly did give it a bit of a looking at.

Now onto the topic. I believe the simplest existing way to upload a hacked screenshot on to Swapdoodle would be to ROM hack a game that has screenshot capabilities. I suggest finding a game that has a single, flat image as its title screen and importing your own image in using EveryfileExplorer or Ohana3DS, running the ROM hack using your desired method, then taking the screenshot using the in-game tool. It may seem a little long winded, but before the custom Miiverse image tools existed this was one of the methods people used to upload hacked screenshots to Miiverse.
