no no no, what im requesting is a pure software solution like they did with backup loaders, nothing hardware releated(memcard, sd/usb gecko, etc) like an internal[nand(?)] way to store your saves

I think we need to take it one step at a time. Once someone figures out how to load GC games from hdd, there's no reason why memory cards couldn't be emulated too.

And yes, we've heard the "but games don't have access to Wii hardware in GC mode" argument many times. Those limitations are software based, so a workaround is not impossible.

i dont think waninkoko or anyone will spend hours to modify the mios's to make you save $5

yes yes yes, and what i'm suggesting is that nobody will bother with this, because it's dirt cheap to buy a hardware solution!
and who knows if the gamecube-mode lockout of wii-functions is purely software based? it hasn't been hacked at all so who knows. For now, it's not gonna happen. What WOULD be cool, is a usb loader for gamecube games. That will be priority #1 if a gamecube-mode-hack is ever found (note the ever)

It's not so much about saving $5 but having a unified storage solution and getting rid of multiple region memory cards.

Not to mention that so many good Japanese games just can't save on U.S. systems (even if you use a separate memory card).

only works with 3rd party memory cards anyway, might as well buy a new memory card...

Only real solution is to get an SD gecko and run a gamecube savegame utility under GC mode, so you can access both official and 3rd partie mc's.

Also, having a large third partie enables you to copy files from original to 3rd party and backup the savegames on wii mode.

Protected savegames are the only thing fucking around gc savegame world, because if your mc is formatted/damaged, you are screwed with a non working protected savegame.

Lust buy a bigger memory card, i bought a 1028 (or was it 2048) block one off lik-sang back before sony sued it to death, and you have worries about using a 3rd party memcard just format it using the official nintendo formatter app that is flying around it makes a 3rd part memcard work jsut as good as a 1st party

As prooven by me having sucky old 3rd party memcards that would get corruption errors with the chao garden and such in sonic adventure 2 battle then after running that utility on them never had another problem, including on some homebrew that only worked with 1st party.
