I think sooner or later Nintendo will do something about it like they said they would do something about the wii memory.

The Wii can access Gamecube controllers in Wii mode.
RE4:Wii, Brawl, Dance Dance Revolution, Virtual Console, etc. all run in Wii mode and all can use the Gamecube controller.

I don't see how people have come to the conclusion that you need to be running in GC mode to use GC hardware.
Maybe because you can't use the Wii Remote in GC mode? If so that's some backwards logic, no offense.

Wow this topic is completely retarded....... Yes it's possible. No there is no tool for it. and yes fors is planning on adding support for it to his and digs CSSM (From what I've heard). Wii mode is easily able to access GC Hardware. Else memory card management would be impossible on the wii let alone the ability to use the GC Controller for brawl and other games...... It's merely a matter of having the support for it coded into the system menu.

Ah, now that's the most informative post in this topic. Well then, I guess I'll just be patient and wait until it's availlable.

Yeah, controlling the menu with the GC controller would be nice, though for games like Brawl, you can just boot it up using the Recovery Menu and not have to use a Wii Remote.

Hemm... does anyone know if the recovery menu can boot gamecube disks? that would be interesting...

correct post is correct.
IOS (i believe) contains drivers for all forms of IO for the wii (wiimote, gc control, classic controller etc)

just another point for people who still dont get it
how do you think the wii can access gc memory cards in wii mode in data managment? if u say its because the MIOS is started, then the controllers should work too, amirite?

i am hopeful someone does this, especially if i just want to play a gc game

I don't understand why Nintendo didn't implement cube controll support or possibility to navigate the system menu without a Sensorbar.

You can use the classic controller to navigate the system menu with no sensor bar.
