I really think New Super Mario Bros 2 is useless, since I own the Wii version. So is there any way to make a *hax out of it? I'd love to help, but I don't know where to start.

First buy the game then get 69 star coins. It will load nsmb2payload from the SD card. ;)

In all seriousness, the game may have an entrypoint, who knows.
There's probably something in the coop mode, on in one of the levels.

I'd love user made levels. NSMB2 has such bland levels for an official game, but I still got the million coins anyway.

Random guy out of nowhere.

So I did some research on this game and found that if you modify the internal Coin Rush Mii name in the save to something else, if you go into Coin Rush it loads as a headless Mii. This is what is shown if a Mii is attempted to be loaded when it doesn't exist on the console. Now before anyone gets their hopes up, the game disregards the name given, so text-based crashes aren't possible as it displays blank when you attempt to see the Mii's name.
Also attempting to cause coin/life overflow/underflow resets it to a legal value automatically.

Now, if someone could do some research on how Local Mario & Luigi co-op works then we might get somewhere with this so called "mariohax" you dream of.

NSMB2 hacking? We're already into that!

Also, NSMB2 isn't 'useless'. Sure, in itself it's an unoriginal game, but technically it's a handheld NSMB. Akin to NSMBDS, but with less annoying restrictions.
It's more advanced, but (to me at least) it isn't as fun as the Wii version.

Anywho, I was mainly focused on some type of "mariohax", like yellows' smashbroshax, but for the NSMB2 coop.

He wants to find an entrypoint in the game, not hack the rom itself.

screw that we need a SD card exploit who wants to buy a game for exploits......why not use a completely free title like ironfall, youtube, MSET or the browser.....oh
Why don't we just find an exploit in the 3D slider, so we won't need to turn the 3DS on.

why do we even need a 3DS where is the 3DS emulators for android and PC ffs (ps that would screw over 2DS users, so so stylus hacks instead.....i call it stylishax)
hmmm lets make this official
[REQUEST] Hack the 3DS using nothing but a stylus.
k tnx bye

I ate my stylus, so no. Maybe an exploit in the start button.

I bet most games could offer useable save exploits. The hackers really should focus more on easy-to-obtain, cheap shovelware titles, IMO.

Strange I hate the Wii version and love the 3ds version each to their own lol

Like many of these people have said, you can't just pull a game out of a hat and expect it to make an exploit. NSMB2 may be exploitable, but from the looks of it, it may also not be. Coin Rush and any other type of on-boot coin overflow/underflow have already been proven to not crash the game, which takes away about 80% of the potential for this to work

I know you and many others want to claim some fame by making an exploit (I know because I kind of am one of those people, always dreaming that my scribblenauts unlimited findings may actually become something) but not everything that displeases you can be manipulatable into something good.
And besides, wasn't Smashbroshax, pretty much the same thing with a more widespread game, confirmed working?

I just wanted to make a game I don't like very much useful. How does one find out information about a 3ds game? When I hacked gba games, it was as easy as opening it up with a hex editor.

And watch there be 20 different exploits in Scribblenauts Unmasked.
