Because of things like MP3 Players, iPods, and iPhones which are small; 3DS's are also a little bulky.

Eh, been using a 3DS for music for years and a DSi for music years before that. Easy enough to carry around and media's pretty easy to switch in and out.

I have too but I prefer to use my iPod.

Well if it's a common thing that you have around and want to listen to music, why not casually have a music player on it that conveniently lets you cycle through your music.

After all, Moonshell back on the DS saw a lot of use, so I can see the case being the same here.

I used to use the iPod clone on my R4 with the Gameboy skin.

Does it really matter if I have or have not?

Point being a 3DS is hardly bulky in comparison, and far from unusable for a portable media player. Are there better alternatives out there now? Sure. However that implies you have to own one.

I undestand your opinion. I never said that a 3ds is far from a portable media player. I enjoy watching videos on my 3ds. Just having music on my 3ds is not my cup of tea.

Make one that plays videogame music formats, mainly BCSTM (3DS), SDAT (NDS), GSF, USF, NSF, PSF, GBS, and inifinate looping capabilities and sleep mode play.

the 3DS doesnt take more place than a smartphone in your pocket, it's quite fine to listen to music with it...

Sadly, I have no smartphone this second as my parents are still trying to sign us up on AT&T, as we moved here a few months ago, so no smartphone now.

Um, 3DS Sound app? It plays mp3's and all that fun stuff and you can do a fair bit with it.

To be honest, sure the 3DS's music player has a few nice features but it sort of sucks. I personally prefer to use Moonshell on a flashcard, as it has volume amplification (3DS sound is pretty quiet. Compare it's output to Moonshell - the winner is obvious). Not only that but Moonshell has themes, video player and a bunch of other neat stuff. I wish there was a Moonshell for CN. If only the dev of Moonshell, released source code  - it would've probably made porting a lot easier (I dunno).

Would be great if someone made a CFW that was capable of installing NDS HB on the home screen.

There's still Sunshell that is WIP, it seems quite promising imo...
