Hacking replacing ds shell

heres the deal. i have 2 ds lites. one is all black and i really like the color more than my black/blue one. problem is the black one is broke. so i want to know if its possible to just replace the outer black shell. i dont want to replace all of the buttons and things like that, just the shiny black outer shell. is this possible and does anyone know how to do it? thanks.

You could replace whatever parts that you want from the old ds. There are all sorts of instructionals on the Webernet, YouTube even has some videos.

The top-shell is not easy to replace, the back of the bottom is. To replace the top you might as well replace the whole shell. Go to dealextreme, it's about 15$ for a full replacement (you need a triwing screwdriver). Good luck!
