Hardware Replacement shells for the 2ds?

Can we do a GoFundMe for the costs? and Can we make the 2DS Shell mods possible?
Yes 2ds is possible and I have rough CAD files for those

I plan on opening a website soon to start selling shells that are 3d printable (starting with (custom and limited ps5 plates) here soon that will hopefully be a success and fund those other shells

I just gotta finish building the printer that took a month to get delivered 🤣

It's kind of bizarre that AliExpress still doesn't have 2DS shells. Just so strange.
It’s because there’s no mold floating around already that they can just steal

That’s one of the reasons a mold costs $8k+

I could do it for more like $3k if I went to them, but then the mould will also fall of a truck into other shops not long after

Surely in China stuff like that costs much less?

Anyway, cool to print a 2ds case, I'm interested!
I could do it for about $3k in China

But it’s cheaper because that cheaper mold you paid for is now being duplicated and sold out of their back door. So sure I saved on mold costs but now I don’t own my mold and I will be racing against other factories for my own work since they won’t be slowed down by funding

I guessed that was the reason, although honestly, I don't think selling 2ds housings (specifically), especially just the stl/3mf files, will be a big business / income generator for you anyway.
(best of luck though, cool idea)

and like I said above, I'd be a customer - depending on the price :D

Here are 3D models done with a 3D scanner for the 2DS

You can’t do much with them

They are not 3d printable, unless you has a high quality (not cheap consumer) resin printer

Which is also toxic and can’t be used in room you spend time in unless you have a way to handle the fumes and cleanup etc

Molds also need step files, not stls. So those need to be recreated in a CAD software. There is no easy way to go from mesh to cad it’s a manual process
