Hacking Render footer banners from command prompt?

I've been told that NSUI has been abandoned, although I don't remember where I heard that.

Regardless, is there an existing tool that can render .bcmdl files for VC footer banners from command prompt, similarly to how NSUI does it in its GUI? Or would I have to reverse engineer it myself? I'd ideally like something that can take the title and year as arguments and auto-adjust the font size, similar to how NSUI does, but again, from the command line.
