NOTICE : This installer is now "obsolete" since Haxchi V2.0 is now available and you can install it straight from homebrew channel : https://github.com/FIX94/haxchi/releases
You can ofcourse use this script also but maybe Haxchi v2.0 is even easier than this !

Hello guys, I just created an account on GBAtemp but I come here almost everyday ^^
Seeing problems peoeple are having with installing Haxchi, I decided to create a script that guide you through installation and make the wupclient commands for you !

What is haxchi ?
It is a vulnerability contained in all NDS eShop games that allow us to replace content by anything we want. You can install this on your sysnand as long as you have a legit NDS eShop game.
If you really don't want to pay, try to downlad Dr. Kawashima : Brain Training which is sometimes given for free.

- A Wii U 5.5.1 EUR/JAP/USA
- Any of the following games installed on USB or NAND (System) or REDNAND.
(At least one must be downloaded from legit eShop if you want it on sysnand)

Spoiler: How to use :

- Install Python 2.7 (only support 2.7 atm).
- Place fw.img on sd card root. (If you install haxchi it for the first time, choose a fw.img that boot on sysnand and install your NDS game via sysnand the legit way, you may use haxchi again on rednand if you want additional shortcut with another game)
- Put Homebrew Launcher in SD:\wiiu\apps
- Put CFW Booter in SD:\wiiu\apps
- Boot your Wii U, go to loadiine.ovh, select homebrew launcher
- Load CFW Booter
- On PC, unzip haxchi_installer_vx.x.zip in a folder.
- Double-click haxchi_installer.py
- Follow instructions !
- The installation will take around 10min if you replace bootsound and icons

Spoiler: Configuration :

• If you want different bootsound than the wii Homebrew Channel, replace : /files/sound/bootSound.btsnd
• If you want customs icons, use option 1 and replace files in : /files/icon/hax/...
• You can now change the channel name the way you want (v1.1.1)

Spoiler: Notes :

If you have any better looking logos/animation/bootsound, fel free to send it to me.Also if you have custom logo/bootanim for loadiine or or anything else, its nice.I'll do my best to follow Fix94 updates. But its not like you need install haxchi everyday...

You can run this tool as many times as you want to change different games on the list.
The script will ask you if you want to use custom buttons config or default.
It should run on Linux and OSX.

About region free :
You can use my regionhax insaller but you need to reboot your wii u beetween the 2 scripts.
Notice : RegionHax is not needed anymmore if you have new dimok fw.img, rednand or cfw now includes region Free and doesnt touch your wii u system files

Spoiler: Troubleshoot :

1) The script doesnt start :
Go in the haxchi folder. Shift + Right click --> open CMD here :

C:\Python27\python.exe haxchi_installer_v1.0.py

Make sure you have python 2.7 installed
2) I get connexion error :
- Make sure you don't have any VPN or modem restrictions running.
- Make sure you entered the correct Wii U IP adress. If you don't know how to find it, the program will help you.
- Try to make a new wifi network using your data connexion on your phone
3) Other problems
- You can ask here if you have any other problem.
- Go to check in data settings if your game is on USB or Internal Memory
4) The icons are good but the NDS game (Brain Age) starts instead
This is because you have an old version of the NDS game that doesnt work, try deleting it and download it again from eShop.

The only bricks from Region Free are from people putting the wrong number into the wrong places. With a script like this it should be no problem.

thanks for the script, i did it the old way. Then you know what happens when something goes wrong.

Ahah im not stupid anyway, I teste it multiple times. I don't publish if its not stable... You can take a look if you want.
The only "risk" is if the path name is wrong, but its 100% ok the path name.

It's easy enough for someone who understands python to see, but that's also not the kinda person who needs this script.

So the people who don't understand what the script does are the same people who need to use it in the first place. See the problem?

Exactly, this is intended for noobs so they dont need to check if it works if you dont tell them it will brick your wii U while you havent read the script x)
