About what?

I'm waiting some report about the sav system but seems not a single person is using this homebrew and i'm not going to officially release untested things.

alrighty, ill give it a go then. Never played Hexen before so I wasn't totally interested but I'll do whatever I can to help someone who gives so much of their time to this community

*edit* - nevermind, i dont have the PC version of Hexen, and Im at work. maybe later

Hi Rinnegatamante, I have good news and bad news. I gave the new build a test and some things are improved, with a strange issue:
Working well: Saving and loading works (as long as you don't quit the game or change to the old vs. new missions)
Not working well: If you quit the game or change between the OLD vs. NEW missions, all save files disappear.

I was playing a bit more and ran into a hard crash. I started a new game for the classic missions (crusader class) and played through the first area. When I when thru the level transition to The Mill, the game crashed and my N3DS was hard locked. The error was something to do with the save/load of the level or player data during loading.

Seems like performance and playability is really good aside from these issues.

same here! :(

I got this work with 2.6 hax. A couple of notes:

First time I play this game. Nice physics upgrade from Quake 1. ( Destruction of barrels etc.)

Hexen II looks and feels absolutely fantastic! A perfect fit for the 3ds! Just like Quake 1.

The sound gets distorted if messing around in the menu. The sound gets distorted in game sometimes.

I loved the feeling, when I got the sword :P

When I entered a door 30 minutes ingame, the game got locked. (It says something about buffer overflow)

I can't get the savings to work. But perhaps saving aren't implemented yet?

2 requests:

Turn off the lower screen

Add c stick support, for looking around!

Hope you will update this gem :)

concerning the saving function... try to use the latest version from rinnegatamante :)

That's a test version with the vitaQuake save system.
Please report me any kind of bugs you encounter.

Ok. Thanks. The only crashes I'm having is when entering a new stage. When entering a new stage, Hexen II automatically saves. So if the savings is fixed, then perhaps we can enter new stages as well?

Edit: With the new save version, the game still crashes when entering a new stage.

The saving works fine! And the loading works fine as well! :)

BTW, I really like that we can play without any menu/statusbars. And when we push d-pad upwards, we see the menu/statusbars. Easy and convenient :)

Thank the gaming gods for these old PC titles. I seriously can't wait to see if anyone tries to do "Descent", maybe with gyro... lol!

When the game crashes do you get something on debug console?

Two things I noticed:

When jumping into the water, the game locks the console.

I got "stuck" once, couldn't move. But that was solved by jumping and moving at the same time :D

I noticed that your vitaQuake save system built is saving and loading fine, as long as you dont quit the game. When you quit the game, and then enters it, the saves are gone...

For quitting the game you mean exiting from ctrHexenII or just exiting current game?

Hey Rinne, I came to suggest a Descent port next. I searched first and this post popped up. Good thinking Ripper!
