Removing the SD card is a temporary fix, as themes could probably break it again.

Try removing it, turning it on, re-insert it while the Home Menu is on-screen, and use homebrew somehow (ironhax, tubehax, etc.). Install a single theme with CHMM2. If that doesn't work, tell us and I'll get an alternate method.

Remove the sd card and turn the 3ds on and then insert the sd card back and in the home menu chage your theme to a basic color one. Your theme probably was corrupted so don't install it again.

This might not work since Change Theme could freeze as well. If it does, I have a second solution ready. If not, then I'd like to know this.

And if you're wanting to use shuffle, set two basic themes on Nintendo's shuffle, then go into Homebrew. Mine seems ok now but I had to reinstall and clear the cache.

My emunand freezes while loading the theme. How can I fix my Emunand? :)
Maybe Emunand Tool? I dont want to format emunand :/

EDIT: Emunand Tool worked out, I backed up the broken one, formatted it and reinserted it.
This resets the theme.

Theme receiver fully implemented on CHMM2. I'm trying to fix socketing issues with NH2.0 but seems hard to do. For now, this feature will only work on NH 1.1b (so fw 4.5-9.2).
Receiver client will be always on and you can send a new theme whenever you want:

So I tried the CIA of this and installed it onto my 10.1 emunand and it just seems to freeze my 3ds.

The bottom screen is just black with white text and it tells me how to install a theme and what not, but no themes show up (and it freezes)

Where would the theme folder be if I try to use the CIA, anyway? Just on the root of the SD card?

Not sure how possible this is, but there should be an option to install themes with themehax / homemenuhax applied to the theme.

Technically you'd need to re-compile the hax with your theme; and even then, only BGM would work due to how the hax works.

https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_homemenuhax
Since this is a theme exploit, a normal theme can't be used unless you build with the THEMEDATA_PATH option below(the ROP runs a good while after the theme is loaded). Due to how this hax works, the theme is really only usable for BGM(as described below).
"THEMEDATA_PATH={decompressed regular theme body_LZ filepath}" Build hax with the specified theme, instead of using the "default theme" one. When Home Menu starts the actual rendering however, the gfx for the theme doesn't display properly due to the hax. BGM works fine, therefore this should only used for BGM-only themes(where the themedata header is all-zero except for the version and BGM fields). Also note that compression during building takes a lotlonger with this.

So, did the BGM loop issue get figured out/getting fixed on the next release? I'm using the shuffle feature all none of my 10 themes loop, not even the dumps from my official themes.

I was looking further into the bgm cut off issue the other day, and it's definitely about file size. The bad news is that while it's consistent, the specific size might be firmware/theme/user/etc dependant. Testing all with the exact same theme file, bgm of size 3,190,000 works for me while 3,200,000 gets cut off (but still works properly with no shuffle). This apparently makes my 10.0 n3ds more tolerant than Misledz' who had problems with 3,181,592 (unless that was just a different issue). The number of themes in the shuffle doesn't matter, I was testing with 3 and 6 (I avoided higher since other people have mentioned problems with 7+, though I personally haven't had any).

Sorry I don't have more specific sizes, I lost my notepad list to a power cut oops. It's completely consistent on my n3ds so I can try again if needed (though aiming for such specific file sizes is preeetty slow).

For reference, the normal non-shuffle max size is 3,371,008 according to the conversion tool.

Personally I'd be happy to decide the new max size is 3,100,000 or so but it's annoying that already existing themes aren't compatible.
Following reading what Poke said, I decided to look into what the largest bgm.bcstm any of the official themes had and found that 3,302,464 bytes, or 3.14 MB, to be the largest file size. I believe this is the maximum file size that can be safely used with shuffling. I back this up with the fact that quite a large number of official themes have that exact file size.

Oh and sorry for repeatedly pinging you Poke.

I'll move my reply over here since it's more relevant :P

Max size possible (no shuffle): 3,371,008 bytes
Max Nintendo size: 3,302,464 bytes
Max size possible (shuffle): about 3,200,000 for me?

They would still get cut off if applied in shuffle with CHMM2 as far as I've tested.
That said I haven't had anyone else confirm this properly yet, apart from Misledz who might not have even had the same issue.
It turns out that when I have a theme shuffle applied with CHMM2 the new browser entrypoint won't start up, so there might even be something wrong on my end since I haven't heard anyone else report that? If that is the case no amount of theme resetting fixes it, maybe there's something else wrong :/

ThemeHax entrypoint probably works using the default cache theme.
When shuffle system is on, default cache theme is not loaded by Home Menu cause it loads relative shuffle theme settings (From BodyCache_rd.bin, BGMCache_(INDEX_THEME).bin, different Savedata.dat offsets)

Not themehax, the website. Stagefright exploit.
I was tempted by themehax but themes are too nice :P

The stagefright entry works with Nintendo shuffle and a single CHMM2 theme, but with CHMM2 shuffle I get kicked out to home menu.
