BatteryMark crushes it on my 2DS! Runs for about 30 seconds!
I need to replace my battery so bad XD
As in, it runs for 30 seconds, then your battery is empty :wtf:? Or does the application crash on you? Either way, if your battery life was really just a short 30 seconds, don't you think you would have noticed this by now just playing regular games?

The good news is that replacement batteries are easy and relatively cheap to come by, and a battery swap is one of the easiest things you can do on a 2/3DS.

for an old 3ds with original battery
max time: 00:02:48.6
avg time: 00:01:34.2
min time: 00:00:46.4
elapsed time: 02:21:18.5
is it good?

I can confirm the app causes 3DS/2DS to crash if we try to exit the app after finishing the test(Might have something to do with attempting to upload the results and failing...)

Also just got a new battery for my New 2DS XL, taking it apart was a giant pain, ending up with small crack in one corner of the shell, and broken microSD card because I forgot to take it out and somehow it got pulled out when I was putting it back together... but either way final result of new battery(Allegedly legit Nintendo one and new... though I doubt it was really "new", probably taken out of like a broken pro controller or something) looked like this:

Battery time max: 00:03:50.1
Battery time avg: 00:01:46.9
Battery time min: 00:00:37.3
Total Elapsed time: 02:40:23.4

Meanwhile I tested once with old battery before that too and result was:
Battery time max: 00:03:03.3
Battery time avg: 00:01:43.1
Battery time min: 00:00:49.2
Total Elapsed time: 02:34:41.4

Nothing quite like almost breaking my console for extra 6 minutes XD

~2hrs is a bit low, even for a 3rd party battery. i assume you bought one with the same amount of mAh? and i hope the old oem one isn't bulged too much, and if it is, don't use it.

Yup, the one I bought is almost identical(Small differences on sticker, but nothing alarming that would imply a fake) to the original one that was in the New 2DS XL, Nintendo CTR-003 1300mAh(Unlike the batteries for New 3DS or New 3DS XL Nintendo still makes these and uses them in Switch Pro Controllers). The old one feels minimally bulged when compared to the one I bought but needs to be put right next to it or compared by touch to notice a difference.

And for the record, I was testing with brightness maxed out and wifi turned on. Was hoping new battery would at least get the result up to 3 hours... but maybe New 2DS XL is just not particularly efficient with batteries.

Is there a way to interpret the actual results? Is there some documentation?

Edit:
Ok I guess I have the idea what the values mean - but only after I ran it. Would be nice to mention the time means - 1% decrease of the battery level. Or am I blind?

Can confirm the crash - got stuck at uploading and then just crashed. The results were not posted.

Semi-old orig. battery in N2DSXL:
max: 00:03:17.4
avg: 00:01:49.4
min: 00:00:47.6
total: 02:44:08.8

Yeah, the battery is meh. I also thought about getting a new battery but from your experience - I think it'll wait. May the Nintendo gods have mercy upon your 2DS lol

I used this tool to test a new battery I put in my 3DS. I would recommend this, amazing tool!

Keep up the great work on it.

Thanks for this tool. I was able to use it to prove that a replacement battery I bought was defective and got it swapped :yay:

I get 4 and a half hours out of my two new third party batterys for both of my N3DSXL consoles it sounds like your battery is toast order this one it is a very good battery and passes battery mark with flying colors and has good reviews. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BNX9SQVN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

Hi guys, I just got a second hand old 3ds XL and I'm currently running this software to test my battery. I'm running it in 4th brightness, no wifi and in power saving mode.

Are we supposed to max out everything, like full brightness, wifi on, power saver off and then run the test?

Just heard about this app and had a go testing it on my New 3DS (non-xl).

On max brightness with wi-fi on and no power saver I got:
max: 00:03:16.9
avg: 00:01:58.6
min: 00:00:35.0
total: 02:57:54.9

Is that decent for a 2+ year old battery? Is the official standard one I believe.
