Sometimes my SD slot just refuses to read my SD card, and that wasn't limited to my current Wii U, my previous one did the same, my two Wii, DSi and 3DS (with multiple SD cards, just to be clear)

I'm not saying this is a widespread problem with SD slots, but they clearly aren't that reliable...
The contacts probably just need cleaning. An easy way is to get some 99% IPA in there, then put an SD card in and out a bunch of times. When I got it my WiiU was filthy and had issues with drop outs over HDMI, I did that and have had no problems since. Of course it won't help if the actual port is coming off the board, but most of the time that's not the issue, any port is exposed and is subject to some degree of dust ingress, oxidation and possibly corrosion.

Projects like redump, archive.org etc are great, and they play a necessary role...but such projects can and do get abandoned or disappear. For preservation to outlive an individual or organisation it needs to be decentralised. That means it *does* fall on the average joe. It falls on them to make sure that their dumps are good and that they store them in proper lossless formats. I'm not saying that you need to dedicate terrabytes upon terrabytes of data to every ROM dump ever created, but you never know what might happen. It's not outside the realms of possibility that circumstances may occur that result in you having one of the last digital copies of somesuch media...it has happened before...so you should make sure it's taken care of just in case.

I keep a fair chunk of my PC library installed for this very reason, well over 2TB. Not because I can't redownload them from Steam, GOG etc at any time, and not because I think that either company is going to disappear tomorrow...but what if they did? I do it just in case.
I'll only answer because of the "Respectfully, I disagree." part, which is a nice way to be different. This being quoted over and over for the sake of justifying piracy (the rest of the quotes) is going nowhere, and keeps cluttering the Aroma thread.

So anyway, quick and short response: average joes on these forums, specially 98% of the ones that tear their clothes for the 300 limit, do not care about preservation. They just want to pirate, to feel that they are punishing Nintendo for being, god forbidden, a capitalist company (those comments are made here regularly). Then comes the usual lame excuse of their supposed friends coming over and wanting to play that specific game that no one else but the pirate with the 4TB hard drive with installed games have. You can search for those kind of comment too, and enjoy the cynicism.

So anyway, MAME, RED-project, nointro, and goodtools also exist. Those are going nowhere, same as the groups mentioned before, centralized or not. All that data is now on the internet, not disappearing any time soon, short of a worlwide E.M.P. or the aliens from The Day The Earth Stood Still erasing everything 😂. Projects matter, 98% basement average joes installing 300 titles on the Wii U don't.

Cheers, @MeatSafeMurderer. Cool nickname, btw.

After Niuu's Speech, I recommend a new Forcefield, so that the Alien from The Earth Stood Still doesn't erase the games on my WiiU even If I'm Dead! ^^

Has anyone played Mario Party 10 using Aroma?
I have a black screen when a mini game will start. Using Tiramisu, everything works normal

Hello Sir @Maschell 😊
Hello Sir @V10lator

Reporting an "Issue" with NUSSpli and / or maybe USB LAN-Adapter Internet only ?

I have this
https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00MYT481C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

uGreen USB LAN Adapter (tested and confirmed working with Wii and Wii U).

Aroma Beta 2 - NUSSpli V.1.101 (wanted to updated this Moment,but....)

I had this "Issue" now for the Third Time.

- NUSspli starts - wants to update / or download a Game
- Network Error / Red Screen appears and the Internet is no longer working no the Wii U
- I must reset the Router / Repeater etc.

But this Time it "corrupts" my Wii U "Desktop.

I have 3 Folders (inside with the Shortcuts)

- Wii U Games (on USB HDD installed Wii U Games)
- AROMA Apps (inside all AROMA Apps)
- Wii U System (Wii U Systemsettings / vWii Mode etc.)

And after the last above described Issue, all System / Game Icons are back on the Wii U "Desktop Screen" again.....

- Wii U Games (now empty)
- AROMA Apps (inside all AROMA Apps)
- Wii U System (now empty)

And as said,no more working Internet over the LAN Adapter...have to reset the Router / Repeater etc.

Thank you for Reading.😉

I have the same USB adaptor and with the latest version of NUSSpli and I had no problem, so maybe the problem isn't the adaptor.

Yes,of course,the Adapter is 100 % o.k. as you say.
But maybe Aroma and / or NUSspli have "a Problem"....😢

By the Way - tried my new Mesh Repeater with Wii U´s W-LAN / USB LAN and the Speed is unfortunately not better / faster...

Just saw that there's more Aroma-ready apps on the appstore :D
That's really nice to see!

From the homebrew app list I have, I think the only ones which I'd consider important for WUHB format (meaning the right-up-next wuhb compiled) would be RetroArch, WiiU Shell and perhaps Loadiine and/or Ufdiine.
From those, I think RetroArch would be the most troublesome, that'd require basically adding the compilation and libraries to the WiiU makefile on the upstream repository in order to update it properly to wuhb, and for the subsequent versions to be automatically compiled on the buildbot with it.

Outside of that, I wanted to ask if perhaps cafe2wii is something planned to add into Aroma?
(and possibly SDfiine and/or a way to load themes from boot :P)

Socialists know so little about capitalism (or don't care and lie) that they don't understand that the decentralisation of software preservation is capitalism. Capitalism isn't "lol money" it's the liberty to own your own labour (and potentially means of production.) Their lack of knowledge won't change my mind, lmao.

And of course it's going nowhere. People like to live in denial that the primary motivations of modding communities is the cracking of DRM - even without piracy, you can't run unsigned code without doing such things. Unless you go to the effort of reimplementing DRM after your crack, guess what users can do? It's a moot point anyway. I don't need 300 titles, but someone eventually will hit that limit and be able to fix it.

I for one just like media preservation (and am excited to see what the scene does next: Nintendont amazed me on a technical level - and unlike the anti-piracy Devolution, it supports original discs!)

Good Morning.😉

Sorry, I have mistaken Alexander1970.... So it's just for stability but wifi is stable, and you add a wire in your place in the corner of the room? ^^
Correct.😉

For Example NUSspli works better with the LAN Adapter.
And if WiFi "fails" (I have many, many, many, many WiFi Networks / Devices around...)...and then the 5GHz lost the Connection very often....and with 2.4GHz "Speed",you know....stable,but slow...
My PC is also connected with an LAN Cable to the Cable Modem.:)

Cafe2Wii is the process used to transition to WiiMode. The patcher from FIX94 allows you to patch a OSv1 cafe2wii image to unlock the wii PPC clock multiplier to its wiiu speed, giving you 1.215ghz in wii mode.
Is there any game which benefits of these clocks or just for homebrew?
