Hacking Registering a Friend, Not Working?

I am trying to add a friend and it keeps saying

"you cannot use the internet registration because you are not online."

But I am able to get into the Shop and use the browser for internet. Any ideas what is going on? I am also on the new firmware 3.0.0-6U.

Happened to me once today, think the Nintendo servers are a bit iffy because of all the extra server load with it being Christmas and all, try turning the console and wireless on/off and trying again, that seemed to work for me.

you know you have to wait a little until your friend card turns orange, then you can register people.
It happens all the time, you don't need to reboot your 3ds.

That happens to me, after I get the error message I click on add again and it's all fine.

Yeah, the Friend's List is down right now. Happens every once in a while.

I noticed it too when I was on the eShop and went to my Friend's List. Just gotta give it time.
