Will this ever get released in North America? A friend of mine really wants one. Is the only option to import it?

At the moment, there's no talk of release for the red DS4. The blue one got a release though, oddly enough, but for now the only option is importing..

Give it time. Look how many colour variants the DS3 ended up getting

That's true. Honestly, I think they should have every possible color they can, whether it be green, blue, red, orange, purple, brown, yellow,etc.
