Need to buy a modchip, can someone recommend me a place to buy them? i've been looking into modbo 4.0s, does that work ok? since it's a dying down console i don't really want to invest that much into it, and $20 price tag is too tempting.

it'd be great if it was easy to solder

i have a slim ps2, i think scph-70012 is the model #.

also, if you bought the game but returned/sold it to gamestop, then is it become illegal then to keep a backup? just wondering.

best and easy way to mod a ps2 even the slim is with a soft mod to the mem card. Look for free mc boot. You can run back ups via a esr patch that fools it in thinking the disk is a movie dvd and no need to swap

Modbo 4 will be fine if you don't want to spend much. It's just a clone of the matrix infinity so it functions the same as that. As for soldering , it's around 20 wires on quite small points , so not that easy , but you aint going to avoid that with ps2 mods. They are all very similar.

The solderless dms is crap. The clips are cheap and nasty. Search , there are numerous dead ps2's from the clips shorting stuff.

the one's ive seen who had problems are the people who tried to remove it and put it on another system or a person who didnt put it on correctly

your choice though, they all work the same
though I would just softmod it XD

EZI DMS chips are great as i have fitted like 8 of them in ps2`s and non have failed me. People rush into the job not thinking on what they are doing and this is how you get messed up ps2`s
