well, currently, I'm looking for something new to get addicted too, preferably an open-world RPG (like elder scrolls- I'm downloading daggerfall now, so that might keep me occupied). Has to be pirate-able, and has to be on N64, NDS, GBA, any sega system, PC (preferably an older pc game, 1997-2003-ish), NES, SNES, etc etc.

So, yes, please, recommend me a game =D

Tales of... series. Example: Tales of Phantasia
Final Fantasy series, and you could even get the PC version of FFVII. But VI is much better and you can get it on GBA or the original SNES version (but it was released as FFIII a long time ago, the numbering was screwed up).
Chrono Trigger
Terranigma

Final Fantasy VII. 'nuff said. It's the best Final Fantasy out there. If you have a PSP, you can emulate it there

Also.. Fallout 1-2 for PC (open-world ftw).
Chrono Trigger, FF V, FF VI, Breath of Fire I & II and Earthbound for SNES.
Mother 1 / Earthbound Zero for NES.

Hmmm. That's it for now

sandbox type rpgs are rare, afaik elder scrolls series are the only ones like that so far. as far as "normal" Rpg's go, here are my recommendations

try
Any Dragon Quest Series you can get your hands on, there have been numerous ones.
YS - oath in felghana & YS: the ark of naphitism.
ANY DnD styled RPG's like Baulders Gate1&2, icewind dale, Torment and Neverwinter nights
Star wars: KOTOR series will keep you entertained.
Jade Empire
Beyond good and evil.

I have a giant list of good snes games and psx games if you want =) just ask and ill happily post them

MMkay, I have KOTOR, which i have completely forgotten about. I am playing FF6 right now on GBA, FF3 on DS, and I supposed i'll try Chrono Trigger.

And by the time all that is beaten, FF4 will probably be out for DS!

thanks guys, now I can rest easy.

Big Sky Trooper on SNES--I'm serious! I liked and like that game. I never did finish it but I'm determined to do so.

Also, what about Chrono and Harvest moon? Play some of the older versions though. Recent GBA and DS incarnations have dissapointed me because of some pretty basic stuff--like no RTC!!!

I like Final Fantasy VI much better. I would recommend it as much as somebody could. (wait, what?)

Yes, Chrono Trigger is a must test and love

and give it some time in the beginning, might be a little simple for starters, but it does get WAY better than you might think

Daggerfall ... I spent over 10,000 hours playing this game, over a 12 year period, and I am currently financing a group of people who are remaking it, using the latest Elder Scrolls tools.
That is Elder Scrolls II right?
